Finding a better me - New Years Resolutions #2

"Be always at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let each new year find you a better [wo]man."
-Benjamin Franklin

-----------------------------------------------------------

Last year I blogged about my New Years Resolutions (you can find it here.) I have often been told when you write things down it is easier to follow through with them. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to try.

Well, this may or may not be a coincidence but I kept and reached each of my goals! I was really stoked about this. I have set and reached goals for myself before but this is the first time I have really tracked it to see how I did long term. So let me give you the break down real quick!

Goal 1. Reading- I read 29 new books. I did not blog about each one since I started using goodreads.com. I of course read books I have read before (HELLO! Harry potter movie came out!) How many exactly have I read? Well, I'm not sure but it sure was fun :)

I of course have to share my favorites! Two very different books but both fabulous (see below). I do have to give a nod to The Help, Magic Study (sequel to poison study), Fablehaven, The goose girl, and Daughter of the Forest (which I think has the best love story I have ever read)

I am planning on of course continue my reading, though I want to add a little variety. I am currently in the middle of 2 biographies (maybe a little ambitious...a little)

Goal 2. Losing weight. I lost more than I was aiming for, which made me happy, and I am still losing - just slowly. I have also become more aware of meal balance and how much I am exercising. So overall I am pleased.

I loved slim in six (for any mommies who want to lose belly fat) but it was running in my opinion that made my last bit of progress happen. I understand now why women complain about their thighs ;)

----------------------------------------------------------

This years goals I am excited about yet I think they are rather ambitious. So we will see I suppose...

Goal #1: Being crafty ;) Well this goal is more of a bring on the skills goal. I have done some minor crafting before but I would really like to play with this. My plan is to try several different thing - I am most excited about building. I have set up a blog where I will share what I learn. I know some of you have seen it. I hope to restart posting as soon as the holidays have calmed down a bit.

Goal #2: Food storage. This is my lofty goal. I am a little leery if I can reach this one. My actual goal is to get a year food storage of EVERYTHING by the end of this year. I have a pretty good 3 month food storage right now, but it is only food. I am hoping couponing will help me a lot with this. I think I would be satisfied with a year of food storage and 6 months of everything else, however my goal is a whole year supply of everything. Wish me luck!

You amaze me! Really! Sometimes it's hard for me to remember that you're not 10 years old and when I do, I am amazed! Good luck and congratulations on meeting last years goals.
