What we have done recently.

We have been SUPER busy here at the Watson household. It is really funny too because normally when someone doesn't post in a while I am like, "huh...guess not much is going on" but every time I don't post it is because I have so much going on. I think I should change my mind set on that.

Well I guess first I should talk about our super fun family day of planning our garden.





















Addie was actually super interested so we let her help for a little while..
We ended up making 4 boxes for our square foot gardening. I am waiting for April to hit before I actually plant everything this year.





















As you can tell I have already bought my soil but it has been so dreary/foggy lately that I have yet to put it in the boxes. I am excited to have so many fruits and veggies this summer!

The pregnancy is going great so far. I really have enjoyed both pregnancy (except about that last month...but lets not talk about that right now.) I am really surprise how different they are. I know everyone always says so but I was expecting it but still, it is surprising. We will be finding out what the sex of the baby is really soon (YAY!) so I will keep you posted on that.

We have really been kept busy between work, church, and day-to-day life but we are loving every minute of it.

Oh! For anyone with youth or who work with the youth of the church, I have found this website I have fallen in love with. It is called The Red headed Hostess I love her scripture and journal ideas in particular.

I have recently revamped my scripture study to what she has suggested (to try it out) and I have got to say I am actually way enjoying it.
She also has other cute things too (Check out the scripture hero!) so if you have a minute I would suggest checking it out.

Oh really quick. Addie loves dancing. I have told you all this before but she has started this new dance but I can never catch her. So three days ago I finally did! So it is not perfect but it's so cute I had to share.

P.S. Now I know there are no pictures of me/Jeremy in these photos and I promise I will work on that. But ya. Sorry ;) Love you guys.

Addie's surgery

Hey everyone! I am back. We have had an absolutely CRAZY weekend but I am back now writing to tell you have everything went. But this will be quick because I don't have a lot of time before addie wakes up.
Those of you on fb know things went really well but I can now actually give an update than just tell you we survived.

Okay first Jer wanted me to put up some shots of Addie as sort of a before (though there I am sure you have seen them ;)

This was about 8 months ago.
















And this was taken a couple weeks ago.
















So onto the actual surgery. We had to be at the surgery center at 7:30 and it is about 45 min away - in other words we had an early morning for this household.
We didn't have to wait very long before we were able to go back to prep for surgery. (In hindsight, Addie's face to her nurse was rather funny.)




















The unfortunate part was they wanted to dilate her eyes again which added to our prep time. I of course forgot my camera so we were taking this pictures with Jeremy's phone.






















All things considered I think Addie handled everything well.





















Her surgery took a little more than an hour. She was so sad after coming out of anesthesia but we had been well prepared about what to expect with this surgery. Here she is with Jeremy and I in the recovery room right before we went home.












































So here are some after shots. Her eyes are now horizontally perfect. She will need one more surgery because she has a vertical lift in one of her eyes (that means only one eye needs the surgery not both) but it's slight.


















You can see how red her eyes are now. That should be mostly gone by the end of this week and completely gone by the end of the month.


















Before I go (Addie is awake from her nap!) I do need to give a shout out to my mom and my little sister, Carly. They came to help and made a really stressful time ALOT easier. Not to mention that Addie fell in love with Carly and followed her around everywhere.

We also got some girl time. Here is one of them.





































Addie was very proud of her toes after Carly painted them that she had me take a picture. lol.

Gratitude in one part of my life

I started this post for pictures really. But I found myself just writing. Oh, and just for a side note, I just put up my latest sewing project over at ICL check it out if you'd like.

Addie's surgery is in less than a week. I can hardly believe it. I have been trying my best to keep myself busy so I don't actually think about it.
Short of getting my license as an eye surgeon, I have become as educated as I can be. Asking questions to the three different doctors I have taken Addie to as well as searched the internet for hours. And even though this is the best decision I can make I still can't help but worry about some freak accident that could harm my little one.
I can already hear teenage Addie saying, "Mom, chill out!"

















I have instead decided to focus on the blessing that this will bring to her life. Kids we meet while we are out tend to comment on her having crossed eyes. I have given one withering stare to a lady who thought it was appropriate to laugh when her daughter made a joke about it. (I mean seriously, how old are you and what are you teaching your child when you show them it's okay to laugh at something like that!)
I am so thankful that this isn't even a new procedure. I have met people in there 50s who have had this surgery done.


















I am so grateful that it is not something worse. So many parents have to face way worse complications than we do. Addie can have a happy and full life without this surgery where others do not have such an option.




















I remember when I was about 16 my mom saying how grateful she was that all 7 of her kids were born healthy and had had few problems through out their lives. I had just had (or about to have) surgery on my jaw. I thought it, huh ya I guess so, but as a mom I can take what she said to heart.
Even now as I writing this post Addie is doing flips and running around and inserting the occasional "Hey, mama", "Hugs?", "I lub you, mama."
My little girl is such a blessing in my life (and dang cute!) I am so grateful she is here and I love seeing her grow and learn. There have been few things in my life that has brought as much joy as she has.
