Fall- Part 2

Okay I'm back! We have been really enjoying the weather here. SO PRETTY! We go for walks and here is so pictures of our frequent paths we walk.

Of course for Halloween we carved pumpkins like we do every year. Addie was really uninterested in this process. Funny as it sounds, Addie does not like being dirty. While Jer gutted the pumpkins, she "tested" the pumpkin she looked at me and her face read "Ewww Mom. I don't think so!" LOL so funny.

Here is our finished product.


















Jer did the ghoul and I did the owl. I felt my owl pumpkin lacked so I painted the tree so it had some pop.

Fall- Part 1

Well I haven't been posting lately (have you noticed?) but no worries it will be coming at you now! I have no idea if I have related my love for western NC yet. Fall is my absolute FAVORITE season. When I say I sure hope Winter/Spring/Summer ends soon it is so it will bring me this much closer to fall. So now that I have relayed this to you I will continue on with my post!


Well first Jer came home! And for good! Yay!!! Of course we went to church a couple days later and he got caught someone's sickness which then proceeded to infect addie 2 days later and then I 5 days after that. So we were pretty much out of commission for approximately 2 weeks but everyone is fit as a fiddle again and back to our routines.

After being sick, poor addie was starved for attention so I decided to give her first cooking lesson. It consisted of a chocolate sheet cake that was oh so yummy!






















Of course hind sight tells me that I should have chosen something on a smaller scale considering I was on a diet but the need for chocolate at that moment could have cared less about my stinking diet.
























I broke out my Halloween decorations (YAY!) Addie found my witches hat and wears it anytime she happens to spot it. I also added to my decoration by making a fall garland. I got the idea from Remodelaholic (you can see her garland by following the link)

This shot is only the close up...I thought the far off views looked funny. Most likely cause I took it so late.

Reflecting on my little Family

Nothing can make you appreciate your husband like some time apart. Though I never suggest you take weeks - wait, months with tiny breaks in the middle - without your husband. Seriously. It's just a bad idea. Don't do it. Ever. Never ever.

It has, however, given me such a great appreciation for my little family (not sure if I needed it, but seriously, looking on the bright side of things here.)

















I wasn't looking for Jeremy when we met. I actually had talked to my bishop about serving a mission weeks before. It was so clear when we met that we fit. Even to this day there is nothing so perfect as a day completely with my husband. I love him more with every passing day.

I wrote a paper when I taking a religion class (I think Eternal Marriage) and I found it I couple of weeks ago. One of my favorite quotes was in it and it got me pondering about this time we are apart.

















The quote goes "In the enriching of marriage, the big things are the little things. There must be constant appreciation for each other and thoughtful demonstration of gratitude. A couple must encourage and help each other grow. Marriage is a joint quest for the good, the beautiful, and the divine."

This time apart has let me see those little things Jer does for me each day that brings such joy to my life. The things I don't recognize that have become the big things without my even realizing them. Even now he strives to find ways to show and communicate love and appreciation for me though miles are between us. (Side note: TOTALLY am grateful for modern technology!!!)

















The most surprising thing I think is the joy that I have found in Addie. I mean, don't get me wrong, I always did find joy in her. But her ability to give me a hug at just the right moment. Or to say "I lub ouuuu!" just makes my days so much better.


For preparation for Sunday School I was asked to think of ways Addie brings me joy. Things automatically come to mind but as the week has gone on I see all the things I love about my little girl. Not only that but things I love to do because I know I can pull a smile out of her (even though if anyone else were around I would look rather foolish!)


















These two people that God has blessed me to know and love, and the opportunity to continue to do such into the eternities bring such joy to my life. I am so thankful for them in more ways than words can express.
